Serves 9-12
Ingredients:
1 cup pitted Medjool dates
¾ cup hot water
¾ cup almond flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
pinch of sea salt
How to bake:
- Preheat oven to 350°. Grease an 8×8 inch pan, then line it with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a blender or food processor, puree the dates with hot water until smooth paste forms. Add vanilla extract and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the almond flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and sea salt until well combined and lump free.
- Slowly add wet ingredients to dry, whisking until well combined.
- Bake for 20 minutes, then let cool before cutting into 9-12 pieces.
- You can add fresh berries upon serving.
