HEALTHY CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

Serves 9-12

Ingredients:
1 cup pitted Medjool dates
¾ cup hot water
¾ cup almond flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
pinch of sea salt

How to bake:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Grease an 8×8 inch pan, then line it with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a blender or food processor, puree the dates with hot water until smooth paste forms. Add vanilla extract and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the almond flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and sea salt until well combined and lump free.
  4. Slowly add wet ingredients to dry, whisking until well combined.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, then let cool before cutting into 9-12 pieces.
  6. You can add fresh berries upon serving.
