This week’s Different Thinker Motivational Moment—I am coming to you from the great outdoors.
Often, I’ve reminded you that there comes a time and a place to take care of yourself and to get regrounded. For a lot of people with neurodiversities, that can be in the great outdoors. It is either something you really enjoy, and it regrounds you—I’ve learned this in our community—or it is something that you 100% say, “No, I do not enjoy it at all,” and you get grounded in another way or space.
But this is my encouragement: How do you find grounding? And by grounding, I mean—how are you in an environment or a space where you don’t feel stressed, you don’t feel anxiety, and you don’t feel pressured by anything? You just feel like you can breathe.
That’s the best way I describe being rooted—when you can just breathe. Not overthinking a million things, just being here, in the moment, in the present. That’s being rooted.
So that is my Different Thinker Motivational Moment. Remember, you may need some time outdoors, and sometimes you have to go a little above and beyond to get yourself into that rooted space. That’s what I’ve kind of done.
And here’s a little bonus—right behind me! Oh yeah, you’re seeing that. And I’ve got to assume those types of warnings are probably geared towards our neurodiverse community too.
I’m JoyGenea, an international neurodiversity coach.
Thanks for tuning in to this Different Thinker Motivational Moment.
Bye now!
