Hi, I’m JoyGenea, and this is your Different Thinker Motivational Moment. Do you sometimes get stuck when going to work on some projects? Maybe even a lot of projects? Like you look at your to-do list and you’re just like, “I think crawling back into bed will really be far more appealing.”
I have a great little tool, and you’re going to laugh. You’re going to say, “There’s no way you’ve gotten millionaires and billionaires to do this!” And I’m going to tell you, yes, yes, I have, because they too are human and neurodiverse, and sometimes their brain hijacks them just a little bit.
One of the fun tools is—if you remember these things from—actually, a couple of my male clients were like, “No, I don’t remember that at all.” And I said, “Let me let you into the teenage, young adult world of passing time and doing these types of things.”
Anyways, you can simply and easily make one of these, and inside, what you can do—and this can make this fun and your to-do list a little more interesting—is you cut the flaps down the middle. So you do your little… and then, let’s say I go, “Stop!” and I have options of 8, 7, 4, and 3. And I’m going to say, “Ah, 3.”
So then I dig in here, and I peel up 3, and I’ve written on there a task to do. And you know what? That’s the task I’m going to do. I did that a while ago, but that’s what you do. See? Got a little task written there. And then, once it’s done, I cross them off, and then I cross that number off, so if I get it again later on…
This is one of your Different Thinker Motivational Moments. If you need to get unstuck from getting some projects done and keeping your life moving forward, this can be a great little tool—temporarily, sometimes even a little longer. But for most of my clients, it’s just a day, and they get going again. They get some traction. It’s pretty awesome.
I’m JoyGenea, International Neurodiversity Coach and Different Thinker, encouraging you to use your different thinking to change the world.
Bye now!
