Dyslexia Awareness, Self-Discovery, and the Unconventional Leaders Playbook

October is Dyslexia and ADHD Awareness Month, and it’s the perfect reminder to talk about what makes different thinkers thrive. This week, I connected with someone halfway around the world who downloaded the Unconventional Leaders Playbook and began exploring their dyslexia on their own terms.

In that conversation, we dove into:
✨ How dyslexia shows up in learning styles and memory
✨ How understanding your neurodiversity can boost productivity, energy, and insight
✨ Why tools like the Unconventional Leaders Playbook can help you grow with confidence

If you’ve ever wanted to understand your brain better or embrace the strengths of being a different thinker, this story is for you.

I’m not big on awareness months, but October is Dyslexia and ADHD Awareness Month, and it does remind me that I need to talk about these things a little bit more from time to time.

Last week, I had the privilege of having a conversation with somebody halfway around the world in a beautiful country, and while English was not their first language, dyslexia was a definite shared language that we had.

They had recently come across my, um, Unconventional Leaders Blueprint. They downloaded it and had started working on that, and they then scheduled a free meeting. We had an opportunity to talk, and they thanked me so profusely for what they were learning in that document.

They were doing some self-exploration, working through the first chapter, and wanted to know more about their dyslexia in particular, since they were not going to take the time or energy to get advanced testing. Because they weren’t going to need an IEP, and this wasn’t something related to their work, it was something that they were just working on for themselves.

It was a beautiful conversation that we got to have in depth—about memory, about word associations, about learning styles, um, how they bring in that information, how they’re supporting that—all brought about because of that Unconventional Leaders Blueprint.

So, if you’ve been thinking about that and been like, “Oh, I don’t want to add my name to one more email list,” I promise you, I’m not giving your email away to anybody else. I am giving you this very valuable insight and tool for free—to learn more about your neurodiversity, your different-thinking brain, and to better come at situations with more productivity, energy, insight, wisdom—all of that kind of stuff.

So, if you want to learn more, I highly recommend that you sign up for the Unconventional Leaders Playbook.

I’m JoyGenea, changing the world for leaders that think outside the box all the time. Bye now.
