You owe it to yourself to put the work in to get to know how your brain works. Denying your different thinking will only block you from living a life that feels aligned with who you are and your aspirations.

So, here’s a fun fact most people don’t realize, your dyslexia holds you back only as much as you allow it to. That is one of the things I’ve learned working around high performers and top achievers, that people that are excelling on multiple levels and happy, is that it’s that simple as yes, there are some limitations in certain areas, find those limitations understand those limitations. That’s what I had to do, you know when I woke up twenty-something, early twenties, been married a few years, and I realized I was not- just not happy. I was miserable, and I was making everybody else’s life around me miserable, and I can own that, and I realized that was not- I’m like if this is life, like hmm, i don’t think you know, like I’m just, I’m not in for the next like ten years of it. It didn’t take me long to ask for help and to say if this is it, and people were like no it’s not, you need to you know, you need to work through and unpack some things. One of the greatest challenges, it was one thing to work through some of the trauma, it was one thing to to work through some of the dysfunction that I grew up around, okay that was great, but nobody was really able to help me understand how my brain was working, different traits that I had, why I wasn’t fitting in in certain circumstances, why I could do a wide variety of jobs, but yet struggled to want to stay in a job for more than two to three years. Nobody had answers for that at the time, and so that launched me into this whole exploration, and why I’m a coach.
So, I can’t really say that I don’t love being a different thinker, because I do, because it’s brought me on this journey, and it’s been part of my journey, but I and I will tell you, until I understood my different thinking, and until I understood how to work with it, how to communicate about it, my life was challenging and frustrating, and you might be feeling some of that too, so the most important thing, whether you’re neurodiverse or not, is understanding yourself and how you work in the world. If you want to learn more about that, hey, I’m a coach. That’s what I do. I’d love to help you out, and if you are neurodiverse, dyslexic, adhd, that’s why I’m really great coach to talk to, because I can talk about that, and once you start to understand that, the rest is kind of easy, actually. Thanks, I’m JoyGenea, unconventional leadership coach, international neurodiversity coach, and champion for you, exceptionally wild, beautiful thinkers. Bye now.
