I wish that I could tell you that I am cured of having highly emotional days. What I have Learned is how to own it and how to shift it. So, last week my psychiatrist did some testing. We got some results back and that triggered a pretty big episode of some emotions for me, made me sidetracked in a few days. I was trapped in negative self-talk, convinced I was broken and worthless and failing, but then I started to trace the clues, the tension, the cravings, the chatter, the exhaustion. Naming it gave me power again. I journaled. I talked with a friend. I worked through the fog, and I realized I wasn’t broken. I was just hijacked by fear and by a chunk of emotions that weren’t even supposed to be there; that’s what self-leadership looks like in a storm. You’re learning to recognize the weather patterns and bringing yourself back to home, so if you want to learn that and if you are a leader and you’re working on leading yourself better, which is what will make the entire team work better, I can teach you some of that and a whole lot more.
I’m JoyGenea, Unconventional leadership coach, helping you map out an entirely new future. Bye now.
