Paid to push

Brendon Burchard says he’s paid to push, and I couldn’t agree more. In my own kind and gentle way, that’s exactly what I do as a coach.

Right now, my focus isn’t just on the next few weeks. It’s on 2026. As the holidays and year-end busyness approach, most people get caught up in the moment. But I help my clients think beyond the noise, to the life and business they want to build two years from now.

Brendon Burchard often likes to say, and does say, about his coaching is that he’s paid to push. And I go right in alignment with that. In a kind, gentle, giving way, I am paid to push.

Right now, the thing about coaching and the thing I’m really focused on is actually 2026. Because the holidays are a few weeks away, and so for a lot of my clients, the holidays will come, and they will absorb all of their time. It’s also the end of the year for a lot of businesses. It’s also a busy time for businesses this time of year.

And so, as they roll into that, I like to take this time to put their perspective outside of the next couple of months and actually into 2026. Getting them thinking about: what do you want to build in 2026? What do you want your life to look like at the end of 2026? Around the same time next year, what would you like to be wrapping up? What would feel incredible to be like, “I did that this year. I did this this year.”

That way, as the year comes around and as they’re in the middle of the holidays, I can remind them, “Remember, you want this next year. You got this. Do this.” Because it helps to build into that. And I help attach that moment that they’re in right now, this present state, and help attach it to that future growth, that future experience where they are going.

And that creates outcomes. That creates results for people.

So if you are feeling a little bit stuck, or if you right now are like, “What should I be focused on?” You should be focused on the next couple of months with your business, but you should also be thinking about 2026—and possibly the next five years overall—and how things are coming together. Because that’s what growth is about.

If you want to learn more about that and engage with me in a conversation, we map that out. Feel free to take advantage of one of my free coaching calls.
