Unconventional leaders are often traveling around, making new connections, working on different projects, and exploring! This is fuel for a lot of these creative thinkers, and it requires some strategizing on how to stay in touch and supported by their teams.

So, now I’m gonna take you out on the road, and we’re gonna be on the run. One thing that’s also really great if you are a non-conventional leader and you travel, I had a client that traveled a lot, and one of the things that was actually messing him up the most was the fact that he would get so out of sync with things, and get off schedule and off track. That holding down the fort, and keeping the team going back home, was a huge issue, and so one of the things we first dealt with was his schedule, and got him on track, created an entire system just for him, travels with him. He is able to keep track of what’s going on at home and what’s going on abroad, and then the next thing we did was we helped his team better support him, better stay on top of what time zones he was in, where he was at, things that he needed. It was a huge win-win, but it took a lot of conversing and a lot of conversations, and that can happen, and that’s one of the things that working with a coach, especially one that understands neurodiversity, can help to make happen, is incredible outcomes like that, where you can see the whole picture, and understand where some of the communication breakdowns are.
I’m JoyGenea, I’m conventional leadership coach, encouraging you to make sure you have good systems in place for when you travel to make it easy to recover. Bye now.
