Every founder I work with is running a process most of their competitors do not have installed. It never turns off.
Asking the question. Why is this happening? Why does this keep breaking? That question runs constantly for a lot of high performer unconventional thinkers, whether it ever comes out of their mouth or not.
Most people treat that loop as a distraction. It is not. It is the reason you spot the gap in the project before anyone else does. It is the reason you ask the question that makes the whole meeting go quiet. That is one of your strongest assets, and most of you have never once been told that directly.
This is naming something. I just named that you are above average in your curiousness. I don’t know you yet, so I can’t be more specific yet. My next question is, what actions do you take to make sure you use this strength in every situation you should?
I did this with a situation that gave me no clear naming. It is proof it does not need to be clean naming to create real impact. My own ADHD diagnosis did not give me a tidy label. It gave me vague wording that still shows up on my medical chart today and still annoys me every time I see it. No clean name. The engine underneath was just as real anyway and I found and named things on my own in the process and am moving those into a new level for myself.
You do not need clean specific words to grow? No, you need to take what you do know and move that into action. The clarity will come.
What one thing comes to mind when I ask this question. What is holding you back from the growth you seek?
Now what micro step of action can you take to shift this, just a little.

But talking about a thing and doing something different because of it are not the same actions. That’s such a good point, I’m going to say it again. Talking about a thing and doing something different because of it is not the same action. They only feel identical from the inside. You’re like, “Ooh, dopamine hit.
Yay.” Not an action. I wanna be really clear about something here. I don’t diagnose. I am never searching for what’s wrong with someone. It is about finding what is going on in someone’s life that is not moving them forward, what is happen- holding them back from being the most successful person they can be with all of their strengths in full use.
I’m always wanting everybody to use all of those strengths. What naming actually does when you let go all the way is hand you new options, new choices you didn’t know you had access to before, ’cause you didn’t have the language.
